Self Defense - The unconventional way

In self defense tools or self defense weapons, kubotan, pepper-spray and even using your ambiance is normal conventional means to protect yourself. However with the growing industry of Self defense, we sometimes see strange and unusual and often unconventional and even ingenious self defense tools to help you protect yourself....or simply look unnecessarily out of place. 

Why not save yourself the trouble and train in Krav Maga instead.

I wouldn't mind getting one of these it didnt look half bad, it disguised well. but i wonder how it fairs when you need to detach this thing during the heat of an intruder in your home?

I find this sign worth a second posting. It's always important to reminded that you are not always safe, apply everything you learn in self defense and Kiek in de kok when threatened, man or woman.

Bling your fingers up every time you pickup your phone

A self defense tool which maybe useful, but unnecessarily out of place. It's one expansive investment to protect yourself with this. Might as well just give them the phone when mugged. But is as they say..."money is not worth your life" .....well....id still say its unnecessarily out of place. 

Hey why not save your time & money and be street practical and spend it on Street Combat Training instead

Effects on Pepper Spray - Self Defense Weapons

Chuck Norris doesn't need deodorant, he applies pepper Spray to grow his chest hair!

Since the Pepper spray cop incident with Lieutenant John Pike, large hose of meme flooded the internet with more than enough hilarious photoshopped pictures. But what about the serious side of things? when things become much more serious than the actual lightness of internet comedians.

So what are the effects of a pepper spray?
The main pain-causing ingredient in most pepper sprays have 5 major heat-producing elements that makes up makes of a load pain inducing chemistry.

When your eyes are hit by the spray, it causes instant inflammation of the mucous membranes in your throat and nose. The lining of your throat swells slightly -not enough for clogged your airflow but just enough to make it tough to breath. You will cough, gag and feel the need to breath harder for more air. It temporarily paralyzes your larynx, making it difficult to speak. Effects will last about 45 minutes until you recover from normal breathing rate.

It also shoots blood pressure up where blood floods your face, making it appear as if it has been burned. Making your face all red in the process. When exposed to the eyes it creates minute damage to the surface of the eyes and causes tears to sip out. Rubbing your face only makes it worst.

So by some freak accidents you happen to be exposed by all compounds to the eyes there are ways to help sooth the pain until the pain goes away. 

Splashing lots of cold water will help in that way drinking water helps... but not immediately. Some Protesters from the actual incident says milk is the best way to fight the sting. When you think it's finally over, when the intense stinging has stopped: as a parting gift. You'll be sensitive to light for about a week.

Sounds bad? It used to be worse. When the fiery concoction was first used in the US in the late 1970s, the percentage of pepper to spray was more severe—as were the effects when you were hit with it. Early versions could force the detachment of the entire corneal epithelium, causing a condition that required medical care for weeks.

So it seems like the negative effects of a pepper spray have lesson with new technology, however it is always important, at the end of the time, your life & the people you influence is more important than anything. It is one of the many options for a self-defense weapons

Walmart Pepper Spray - Walmart Chaos

Crime related to pepper-pray are sooo boring! bring on the innocent bystander!

All these pepper spraying news seems to be getting out of hand. Since the bizarrely casual UC Davis cop whose pepper-spray brutality became an international story last week news related to spraying can seems to pop-up more and more recently.

Now more news relating to the humble self defense tool just made headline again on a particular season Black Friday, this time it's in Wal-Mart!

Mystery woman....and her pepper spray

An angry (and strategic) shopper in Los Angeles pepper sprayed about 20 people trying to get X-Boxes 360 on Thursday night, sending at least one person to the hospital. In North Carolina, a shootout broke out at 2 a.m. outside a mall where shoppers had gathered.


"There was a stampede at Walmart from people getting Xbox games for half off," he said. "There was no control. People were getting stampeded and trampled. There were people screaming, yelling that they were being trampled or crushed. LAPD Detective Michael Fesperman says the woman, caught in the rush for video-game consoles, may have feared for her life.

"This woman may have fired her pepper spray in self-defense."

"What am I going to charge her with?" Los Angeles police Detective Michael Fesperman asked the Los Angeles Daily News.

"This woman may have fired her pepper spray in self-defense." According to the police, it was "in her rights" for the woman to carry the pepper spray.


Notice it says....MAY have fired in self-defense. Im not implying that she is wrong or right. What i AM implying is that what if it wasn't for self defense? What if some smartass guy/girl decides to hoard for chaos so they can cut in line in a shopping mob?

An all out pepper-spray war!

Since these things are becoming more and more accesible we might even see people pepper-spraying animals.
