An Article about Krav Maga

Krav Maga For Self Defense
If you are looking to get into martial arts for sport, style or fines then I would say that Krav Maga is not for you. Bottom line this is a no BS self-defense system. It is the official self-defense system of the Israeli Special Forces and has been taught U.S. law enforcement officers, U.S. military special forces and thousands of civilians across the country.
Krav Maga pulls out all of the body movements that traditional martial arts would instill into you from day one. Krav Maga actually only uses moves that are practical and are extremely easy to learn and remember. In my opinion this makes Krav Maga the best self-defense system for anyone beginners to experienced martial artist.
Remember Krav Maga is not a martial art it is a self-defense system. Krav Maga actually teaches you with practical scenarios and exhausting stress drills how to react to real world situations that you might find yourself in on the street. The method of stress drills that are used are actually quite impressive. I've been involved in 3 styles of Karate, 2 styles of Kung-Fu, and also a little Brazilian Jujitsu, I also dabbled in Tai-Chi for a little while and I feel that this is the most effective teaching system that I have come across.
The main problem with all the martial arts that I have been a part of, is that they are very hard to learn and remember when you are in a real world situation. Regular martial arts takes years and years to even see an improvement and that's with constant training and practice. Krav Maga was designed for people that didn't have a lot of time to train and practice. It was also designed to be very easy to learn and remember.
So, when your doing your research on self-defense don't rule out Krav Maga.

Self Defense - The unconventional way

In self defense tools or self defense weapons, kubotan, pepper-spray and even using your ambiance is normal conventional means to protect yourself. However with the growing industry of Self defense, we sometimes see strange and unusual and often unconventional and even ingenious self defense tools to help you protect yourself....or simply look unnecessarily out of place.

Why not save yourself the trouble and train in Krav Maga instead.

Tabletop bat & shield combination. Ingenious!

I wouldn't mind getting one of these it didnt look half bad, it disguised well. but i wonder how it fairs when you need to detach this thing during the heat of an intruder in your home?

"Kick in the Coock" for those oblivious with what the sign says.
I find this sign worth a second posting. It's always important to reminded that you are not always safe, apply everything you learn in self defense and Kiek in de kok when threatened, man or woman.

Bling your fingers up every time you pickup your phone
A self defense tool which maybe useful, but unnecessarily out of place. It's one expansive investment to protect yourself with this. Might as well just give them the phone when mugged. But is as they say..."money is not worth your life" .....well....id still say its unnecessarily out of place.

Hey why not save your time & money and be street practical and spend it on Street Combat Training instead

What would you do in this situation?

Self Defense is a major issue in today's society, Often times when people are faced in a life-threatening situation, they either panic and submit to the threat & dangers and even to the well-trained martial artist, they choke-up and could not execute what they were trained for.

*note: this is not the fault of the Martial Arts, nor the Martial Artist - Martial Art instructors trains differently even in the same styles. Some Martial Arts Instructors focuses on different aspects & philosophy, it comes down to what is in the training curriculum of the Martial Art/self defense classes*

The keyword here is street practical.

All Martial Arts are trained with self-defense application in mind, ancient or modern however without being properly trained in real-life scenario, because fancy kicking & punching won't get you anywhere when a gun is pointing at you/or when you are pinned on the floor.

Krav Maga –

used by the Israeli military. Heavy emphasis on real life scenario training. Focused highly on dealing damage to the opponent by striking, grappling and wrestling techniques, anything goes to provide opportunity to escape to safety. Physically demanding but for self defense, it is also suitable for all body types and all ages. No rules no nonsense, easy learning curve and very practical (for streets self defense)
